NCC promotes awareness on diarrhoea

Bhawanipatna: To spread awareness about swine flu and diarrhoea in the remote areas of Kalahandi district, 100 NCC cadets participated in a cycle rally organised by the district administration and sponsored by the Vedanta Aluminium Ltd (VAL) on September 2. The rally from Bhawanipatna to Lanjigarh was flagged off by Kalahandi SP Harmohan Dash at Bhawanipatna. The cadets cycled through the rural roads visiting more than 50 villages. “Diarrhoea is a problem in Kalahandi district, while swine flu has also panicked people here,” said NCC Officer of BM High School Rabi Prasad Kanungo. The rally concluded at Lanjigarh on Friday at the VAL Colony. Rayagada Collector KG Mohapatra and VAL COO Dr Mukesh Kumar attended the closing ceremony.
