The Kalahandi district BJD has termed Pyarimohan Mohapatra as a Congress agent. BJD district president Balabhadra Majhi told reporters here that after betraying Naveen Patnaik and being ousted from the BJD, Mohapatra has been working as an agent of the Congress.
Majhi alleged that BJD workers are being motivated by Mohapatra with the assurance of giving them their rights in the BJD fold, but he should know that the BJD leadership is not at all exploiting party workers.
“We are strongly opposing his (Mohapatra’s) Kranti Samavesh scheduled at Bhawanipatna on November 19,” Majhi said. But he added, “We are not going to create any hurdles for the Samavesh.” He was referring to the earlier allegation of Odisha Jan Morcha chief coordinator Jagneswar Babu that BJD leaders are going to create disturbances for the Samavesh.
It was apparent at Majhi’s Press conference that the district BJD has internecine feuds. District party vice-president Sunil Nayak recently switched over Mohapatra’s Jan Morcha.
Majhi declared that Sunil Nayak, Jayanta Naik and Sarada Swain have been ousted from the BJD for their anti-party activities. But interestingly, Jayanta Naik was present at Majhi’s Press meet.
Jayanta Naik claimed that he has not been removed from the party and he was told to attend the Press meet by the BJD’s senior leader from Bhubaneswar.
Majhi replied that as Jayanta has joined the Jan Morcha, the district BJD leadership has recommended to Naveen Patnaik to oust him from the party.
Meanwhile, the Jan Morcha is all set to bring thousands of people from the KBK region to the college field here where the Kranti Samavesh will be held. Jagneswar Babu and his team have been camping here to ensure full success for the Samavesh.
In the meantime, students of the local Government Autonomous College protested Mohapatra’s “undemocratic movement” and burnt his effigy at the college gate.
