Buddha Mahotsav held in Bhawanipatna

Bhawanipatna: A State-level Buddha Mahotsav was organised on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti and Santh-Kavi Bhima Bhoi Jayanti at the Town Hall here on Saturday. Chief guest Bhadanta Nagghos said religion is like a big snake and if it is captured properly, it will obey your words, otherwise a lot of conflict will arise. A seminar was also held on Buddhism and its Social Relevance, Dr Ambedkar and Social Emancipation, New Man of the Buddha’s World, Role of Women in Buddhism and Cultural Movement of Dalits. Professor of Anthropology Dr PD Satyapal, Dr Pradip Godboley, Acharya Swami Dhyan Sandesh Bhalekar, Dheemati Durgeswari Mahanand and Dr Basudev Sunani spoke at the function. The seminar was followed by a question-answer session. Malkangiri DIPRO Subash Nial delivered the welcome address. President of the Kalinga Bouddha Mahasangha was present at the function.
