Water level capacity and production of electricity are gradually decreasing from Indravati Irrigation Project.
Due to shortfall of rain this year, only 10, 000 hectares of land have been irrigated against its capacity to irrigate 54, 000 hectares of land during both Rabi and Khariff seasons.
Now, the reservoir has 629 metres of water at surface level. It is doubtful after extension work of canals, the planned programme for irrigating 1,28,000 hectares of land will ever be met. Hence, renovation of the project is badly needed, said sources.
