A Legal Awareness Camp for the school students was organised by the Antodaya organisation at Nandol Jay Durga High School under Junagarh block here on Friday. Presided over by the Head Master (HM), advocate Dibya Ranjan Bohidar and Sudhansu Nanda briefed the students on the Right to Education (RTE) Act, Child’s Rights, Juvenile Justice and Fundamental Rights as enshrined in our Constitution.
The HM pointed out the hurdles in implementing the RTE. He also observed that inadequate teachers’ strength in the schools mars the development in education system.
Antodaya chairman Dillip Kumar Das informed the students about the role of National Commission on Child Protection Right and also encouraged the students to knock the doors of the Commission for the redressal of their grievances pertaining to the school. He also sought the cooperation of the students to encourage other children in their respective neighbourhoods for enrolling themselves in schools. Eventually, the vote of thanks was given by science teacher Mr Meher.
