Rail Roko at Narla Road Station demanding Wagon Factory

A rail roko was made at Narla Road station demanding rail Wagon Factory at Narla on Monday. Kalahandi Swavima Jagaran Manch along with rail Wagon Nirmal Samiti done the rok. Tiripati-Bilaspur, Tapaswini express and other good trains were halted for more than 4 hours. Initially a rally of 1000 protestors including 400 women started from Jagannath Mandir Narla to Narla road. The protestors sat down on the track for 4 hours. A meeting was also held on the track. The meeting was called of after discussion with Assistant Commercial Manager of Railway, Mr Baskey. He gave a letter signed by DRM Sambalpur regarding the civil work report of the railway Department that was given to HQ. The rail roko was leaded by Badri Prasad Pattnaik, President Kalahandi Swaviman Jagaran Manch (KSJM), Predeep Ku Nayak, Secretary KSJM, Bishni Gahir, President Narla Rail Wagon Nirman Sangram Samiti (NRWNSS), Santosh Kumar Kar, Secretaty, NRWNSS, Kumuda Naik, Krusak Kalyan Samiti, Narla, Ratanakar Chand, Badri Prasad Mishra, Ex MLA Pradeep Naik, Harihar Majh, Ajay Ku. Nanda, Lingaraj Mishra, Tirthabasi Pradhan and others.

The protestors threatned that if rail Wagon factory is not constructed at Narla, then both center and state Governments will be responsible for unavodable situation. The rail roko was called off after memorandum was given to the Prime Minister, chief minister Naveen Patnaik, railway minister Mamata Banerjee, leader of opposition Susma Swaraj and all MPs from Odisha, all the MLAs from Kalahandi, local MP, leader of oppostion, presidents of all political parties in Kalahandi and district collector.
