Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister of Orissa Naveen Patnaik on Saturday wrote a letter to Union Textile Minister Shankar Singh Vhagela to set up 10 more cotton procurement centres in Kalahandi, Ganjam, Balangir and Rayagada districts.
As of now, there are only six cotton procurement centres, which are operational in Kalahandi, Balangir and Rayagada districts of State under the aegis of the Food Corporation of India.
Quality cotton is generally procured in the KBK areas. The State aims to produce 7.53 lakh quintals of cotton this financial year.
