For the development of the State and the nation it is necessary for the BJP to come to power. Failure in providing safety and security to the common people by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and failure in eradication of the poor’s standard of living by Naveen regime, it is necessary for the BJP to win in the State as well as at the Centre, said BJP’s star campaigner Hema Malini at a public meeting at Narla in Kalahandi on Tuesday.

She lambasted the UPA Government saying that hundreds of people died in the terror attack in Mumbai but the PM failed to rise up to the occasion. In Orissa and other States common men are dying in Maoists attacks. Manmohan has no credibility of his own and he has been ruling the country backed by others decision.

Making an aerial tour in a helicopter Hema Malini saw the cottages, villages and infrastructures and criticised the Congress Government and said poor and common people are suffering a lot in the under-developed district in KBK region but the Congress is campaigning with the slogan Jai Ho, Jai Ho.

She also accused that the BJD betrayed the BJP in the State breaking the11-year-old alliance. Had the BJP not supported the BJD it would not have formed the Government in Orissa. Under Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s banner they enjoyed power in the State. Naveen failed to nab the killer of Dharmaguru Swami Laxmananda Saraswati, she alleged

She praised the leadership and prime ministerial candidate LK Advani and said he should come to power at the Centre to safeguard the country and people now want a leader like him.

Thousands of people had gathered to see the star campaigner. Among others BJP’s LS candidate Bikram Kesari Deo, Narla MLA candidate Srikant Hota, district BJP President Goura Chandra Panda, Bhabendra Panda, Bharat Bhusan Deo were present in the meeting.
