PNS | Bhubaneswar
It will be a star campaigners’ day out in Orissa on Tuesday. Three prominent campaigners from three major political parties will reach the State to address a number of rallies in favour of their respective party’s candidates.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Rahul Gandhi is coming on a two-day visit to the State from Tuesday. He would start his election campaign from Birsa Maidan, Rourkela. Later, he will move across the State and address a number of meetings at Rairakhol and Sonepur. On Wednesday, he is likely to visit Dharmgada and Baliguda in Kandhamal. Rahul is visiting the State in the backdrop of an intense infighting among its State leaders and exodus of some leaders from the party.
Similarly, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar, who at the last moment could not address a BJD-Left rally in Bhubaneswar last week in the backdrop of a political controversy, will also reach here on Tuesday. He would address a number of rallies on Wednesday.
As per the programme, Pawar will be reaching Bhubaneswar on Tuesday night and campaign next day jointly with State Chief Minister and BJD chief Naveen Patnaik. Pawar is likely to address meetings at Badachana, Bhandaripokhori, Balasore and Begunai. Last minute changes can also be made to his itinerary.
Similarly, BJP's senior leader and yesteryears' Bollywood dream-girl Hema Malini would reach here on Tuesday for campaigning for party candidates. She is likely to address a number of meetings in places like Titlagarh, Narla, Ramgiri and Jatni.
On the other hand, BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik will crisscross the State to campaign for the party's candidates.
