Cong shines in Kalahndi, bags LS, 4 Assembly seats

In Kalahandi, out of five Assembly segments, the Congress won in four constituencies and BJD won in one seat . This time the BJP did not get any seats.

Congress MP candidate Bhakta Charan Das defeated his BJD rval Subash Chandra Nayak by a margin of 1,47,599 votes. In Bhawanipatna Assembly constituency Congress candidate Dusmanta Naik won over his contestant BJP candidate Pradipta Kumar Naik by a margin of 2,210 votes.

At Junagarh Assembly constituency Congress candidate Gobardhan Das won against BJD’s Bira Sipka by a margin of 6,586 votes. In Narla constituency Congress candidate Bhupinder Singh won against BJP’s Srikanta Hota by a margin of 27,512 votes. In Dharmagarh Assembly constituency BJD candidate Pushpendu Singh Deo won defeating his rival Congress Candidate Ras Bihari Behera by a margin of 22,906 votes.

At Lanjigarh Congress candidate Shivaji Majhi defeated the BJD’s Balabhadra Majhi (who was a sitting MLA for 15 years) by a margin of 3,039 votes.
