Bhubaneswar (Orissa): Orissa Governor Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare addresses first session of newly constituted Assembly on Monday. Adressing the house Bhandare put more emphasis on agricultural and irrigation development in the State whioch is considered as one of the poorest State in the country. In his speech he said, the Govt has observed 2008 as the irrigation year and irrigation facilities has been provided to additional 62000 hector land during this year. Speaking on the development of education in the state, he said the Govt is planning to set up two more engineering colleges at Berhampur and Bhawanipatna, one agriculture college and five new universities in the state. Similarly the Govt is giving incentives to set up as many as 17 private medical college and dental college in the state.
