PNS, Bhawanipatna
Members of Satyagraha Sangathan headed by its chairman Chinmaya Behera demanded immediate action against concerned officials for the misappropriation of funds in Central Government’s scheme, National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.

The members staged a 72-hour hunger strike in front of the Collectorate in Kalahandi on Wednesday demanding appropriate action by the Government.

They alleged that after sanctioning Rs 5 lakh in 2006-07 the roads under NREGA were not properly constructed from Sardapur in Gourpada to Kurlubhata in Gudialipadar GP under Sadar block of Bhawanipatna.

Adding the allegation about the officials, Chinmaya Behera said that the job cards were issued in the name of blind, handicapped and mentally deranged persons.

Not only this, dead persons also got a place in the job cards by the concerned officials.

The Sangathan has also demanded to the district administration for upgradation of roads and purification of water at Bandopala with modern equipments immediately.
