BHAWANIPATNA: A strategy for rabi crop has been drawn up for Kalahandi district to compensate farmers for loss during kharif season.
At a meeting of agriculture, horticulture and irrigation department officials here today, it was decided for proper utilisation of irrigation resources in the ensuing rabi season.
On Indravati project, District Collector R Santha Gopalan, who chaired the meeting, said priority would be given to agriculture than power generation.
In the wake of success of the SRI method of farming, it was decided that the thrust would be laid on cultivating paddy through the method in rabi season. The VAWs in irrigation pockets have been given the target to cover at least 200 acres under SRI under their areas of operation.
