Pyari lauds Vedanta

Pyarimohan Mohapatra is upbeat about Vedanta.
BJD MP and think tank of the ruling regional political outfit exuded confidence on the Aluminium Major and lauded the initiatives of Vedanta in supporting tribals.
Mr.Mohapatra was inaugurating an Advanced Welding Centre (AWC) with State of the Art training equipments at Jagannath Institute for Technology and Management (JITM) hereon 1 November.
Mukti Mishra, Chairman of Centurion Group of Institutions and JITM chaired the meeting.
Surjya Narayan Patro, Minister Revenue & Disaster Management, Narayan Rao, MLA was present in the ceremony.
Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Chief Operating Officer of Vedanta Aluminium Limited graced the occasion.
“AWC will help in developing skilled manpower, which is required for current as well as future industrial projects,” said Dr. Kumar.
VAL has supported JITM with an amount of Rs.54 lakh to set up the centre.
The Advanced Welding Centre is equipped to provide basic to high precision welding training to students.
People can seek employment in ship building industry after training from this sophisticated welding centre.
They could pass non-destructive test after being trained here.
Vedanta Aluminium Limited supported Rs. 54 Lakhs for setting up the Advanced Welding Centre at JITM.
He also expressed Vedanta’s commitment for improving education standard in the area.
Currently, 39 Project Affected Persons (PAP) from Lanjigarh are being trained at JITM.
JITM will not only help the students to get employment but also will encourage them to become entrepreneurs by using this centre as common facility centre, said Prof.Mishra.
The Centre will help youth of the tribal area in getting gainful employment as well as opening welding shops.
This will enhance their employability, so that they can seek suitable employment in industrial projects.
Orissa Chapter of Indian Institute of Welding (IIW) was also launched during the program.
IIW is a professional body devoted to the cause of promotion and advancement of welding science and technology in India, said Prof.Mishra.
