BHUBANESWAR: The State Government has received Rs 1,107.5 crore under the Revised Long-Term Action Plan (RLTAP) since 2004-05.
To a question from Santosh Singh Saluja (Cong), Agriculture Minister Damodar Rout said that the Centre had provided Rs 545.64 crore under the Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF) since 2007-08. Besides, Rs 380 crore had been provided by the State Government under the Biju KBK Yojana, he said.
The Minister said that funds under the RLTAP were reduced from Rs 250 crore to Rs 130 crore by the Centre. During the 2009-10 financial year, the State Government has received Rs 97.5 crore till now, he said, adding that a budget provision of Rs 120 crore has been made under the Biju KBK Yojana for 2009-10.
The State Government has divided the Biju KBK plan into two sectors _ district and state _ from 2008-09. The share of the district under the Biju KBK yojana is determined by the formula, Rs 1.5 crore multiplied by the number of blocks. While two thirds of the district share is earmarked under the State sector, one third is provided to the district sector.
The Minister said that the draft proposals under the district sector are approved by the district planning committee (DPC). After necessary approval by the DPC, the proposals are examined and approved by the State Government, he said, adding that there was no provision for the projects under the state sector to route through the DPC.
