State gets Rs 1833 crore under KBK plan

The Orissa government has received Rs 1833.95 crore from the Centre for the Revised Long Term Action Plan (RLTAP) known as KBK plan from 1988-89 to 2009-10.


It has utilised Rs 1813.48 crore out of the total assistance received under the scheme till date. This was stated by the minister for planning and co-ordination A U Singhdeo in the state assembly.

He said, the Centre provided Rs 46 crore to the state under the plan during 1998-99, out of which Rs 10.51 crore were utilised. The rate of utilisation of funds improved in the next fiscal with Rs 55.91 crore being spent out of Rs 57.6 crore.

The expenditure was more than the allocation of funds during 2008-09. While the allocation was Rs 130 crore, the expenditure was Rs 141.76 crore. During the current fiscal, Rs 118.77 crore has been spent out of the allocation of Rs 130 crore.

On the other hand, the state giovernment has provided Rs 380 crore for Biju KBK plan. Since KBK plan is a regional plan, this is being implemented through various departments, he added.
