Thousands of BJD workers took out a motorcycle rally followed by the Biju Yuba Janata Dal Sammilani here on Sunday.

State Convener Sanjay Das Burma and zonal president Lopamudra Buxipatra were invited by the district BJD leaders to unite the youth here.

District BJD vice-president Bhawani Mishra, opposing the demand of a separate Koshal State, said a protest at every place against the Koshal Ekta Manch would make it futile. “The Koshal Ekta Manch wants to split undivided Odisha which must be protested by us,” Mishra said.

Former Dharmagarh MLA Bira Sipka also opposed the demand of separate Koshal State.

District BJD president Balabhadra Majhi said a message of success should be spread to every nook and corner of the district to unite the youths.

Former MP Subash Chandra Nayak said unitedly they would be able to win the forthcoming municipal and panchayat elections.

The sammilani was presided over by district president Pramod Pattnaik.

Later, addressing a Press conference at the circuit house here, Burma said that the youths in Kalahandi district would be united to fulfill Biju Babu’s dream.

When asked about the age limit of choosing probable candidates for the Biju Yuba Janata Dal, Burma parried the question and passed the buck on to the district BJD president saying we have not gathered here to raise any issue, but to strengthen the youths in the party.
