Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Surjya Narayan Patro along with Labour and Employment Minister Pushpendra Singh Deo and Nabarangpur MLA on Sunday visited the marooned villages of Balichhada, Matikhal and Biripur under Kalampur block, where mud wall houses collapsed and crop lands were inundated with flood water following incessant rains in Kalahandi.
After visiting Nabarangpur flood-hit areas on Sunday morning, he visited Kalampur block by helicopter.
After meeting the marooned inhabitants, Patro undertook a review meeting attended by Collector Rupa Mishra, ADM Chudamani Seth, Dharmagarh Sub-Collector Jagannath Mohanty and SP Sudha Singh held at Kalampur.
The Minister asked the officials to submit a report of the overall damage within seven days.
Patro informed that Rs 60 lakh has been sanctioned to construct embankments of the rivers.
