Art of Living guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will visit the State from December 14 to 18. He is scheduled to address a public gathering at Sambalpur on December 14 and lay the foundation-stone for a meditation and prayer hall, known as Temple of Knowledge. About two lakh devotees of the guru from across eastern India will participate in the Mahasatsang being organised at the PHD ground at Ainthapally at Sambalpur.
Sri Sri will also address a farmers’ gathering on December 15 at Dharmagarh, known as the granary of Kalahandi district. In the evening, Guruji, as he is popularly called, will speak at a gathering of devotees from all over Kalahandi district. The event will showcase the Dongria tribe’s culture as well as traditional dance forms of other Kalahandi tribes.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will arrive at the Sri Sri University, Bidyadharpur, Cuttack, in the afternoon on December 16, where he will take stock of the well-being of the residents of the villages adopted by the university. In the evening, thousands of youth of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar will congregate for a Youth Concert & Festival to celebrate the Spirit of Leadership amongst Youth at the university site at Bidyadharpur. The concert will have many celebrities addressing the youth.
On December 17, there will be a Sudarsan Kriya conducted by Sri Sri himself, to be attended by devotees from all over the State and to be followed by Lakshmi Pooja at 10 am. The Puja will be held keeping in view the sentiments of Odia devotees who celebrate the month of Margashira with a lot of religious fervour. In the evening, there will be a mega programme of Sumeru Sandhya (an evening of dance, music and knowledge).This is expected to be attended by lakhs of devotees from different parts of India. On December 18, Sri Sri will leave for a tour of Andhra Pradesh.
