Bhakta urges traders to be entrepreneurs

Kalahandi Merchants’ Association took out a grand procession in the town to celebrate its second annual day here on Sunday. The function, which was inaugurated by local Press Club president Santanu Behera, had programmes of art, dance and song competitions.

Speaking on this occasion as chief guest, Kalahandi MP Bhakta Charan Das assured the businessmen that he would cooperate in all their new proposals so that they become good entrepreneurs. He also urged them not to limit their businesses to smalltime shops and, instead, to develop themselves by establishing industries in Kalahandi.

He also felicitated businessmen and other dignitaries of the district.

Das also announced allotment of `10 lakh from his MP LAD fund to construct a new building of the Merchants’ Association while Sadar MLA Dushmanta Naik announced allocation of `5 lakh in the first year and another `5 lakh in the second year from his MLA LAD fund.

Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence Sarat Chandra Mohapatra and Deputy Commission of Vigilance Krushna Chandra Panda, also spoke on this occasion. President of the association Bijay Kumar Sahoo, vice-president Niroj Pattnaik and secretary Surajbhan Jain coordinated in the meeting.
