5,200 Kalahandi youths to benefit from ‘Mo Dakhyata’

The Kalahandi administration has set a target to train 5,200 youths under ‘Mo Dakhyata’ campaign of the State Government. Accordingly, 400 youths each from 13 blocks of Kalahandi will be identified and acceptance of applications for the purpose has already started.
‘Mo Dakhyata’ is a campaign for identification of suitable rural youth from the poorer sections of society for imparting them appropriate marketable skills to improve their chances of jobs with a decent income. The State Government has decided to train one lakh rural youth in the next two to three years in different vocations to enhance their chances so that they can be gainfully employed in the booming organised sector.
The initiative has been taken keeping in view the huge demand for skilled manpower available in the private sector.
District Collector Govind Chandra Sethi said uploading of the applications at block-level will be completed by November 12 and the district-level counselling will be held from November 30 to December 6.
Sethi said unemployed youths who have studied upto graduation and are in the age group of 18 to 35 can enrol for training under different trades.
Nayagarh: Training to youths under the  scheme will start in the district on December 21.
District Collector Muralidhar Barik said priority would be given to SC/ST candidates. Training will be imparted by various project implementing agencies free of cost for one to three months. “Youths who want to take training have to apply online in a prescribed format and the application forms can be downloaded from the web portal (www.odishapanchayat.gov.in/sgsy). This has been developed by the Panchayati Raj Department to track the progress of each candidate from the initial stage of registration, skill training and final placement,” he said.
