Government, OJM brace for big fight

The New Indian Express (Bhubaneswar), Nov 12, 2012

Even as the Odisha Jana Morcha (OJM) tries to embarrass the BJD on the death of an Ayush lady doctor calling it ‘government-sponsored’,  several ministers have reportedly been asked to camp in Kalahandi district after Deepavali to foil Morcha’s Bhawanipatna rally on November 19.
Sources said that ministers and senior BJD functionaries will hold constituency-wise meetings to ensure that the workers stay away from the OJM rally. Those likely to visit Kalahandi include Agriculture Minister Debi Prasad Mishra, as he was the president of the Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD), Industries Minister Niranjan Pujari, Minister of State for Energy Arun Sahu, Minister of State for Science and Technology Ramesh Majhi and Deputy Government Chief Whip and BYJD president Sanjay Dasburma.
Ministers and senior leaders of other KBK districts have reportedly been asked to ensure that BJD workers do not attend the Morcha rally in their areas. While OJM supporters are optimistic that the Bhawanipatna rally will be a success, a senior minister said there would not be much crowd. “From where the Morcha will bring crowd for the Bhawanipatna meeting,” he asked.
Meanwhile, Morcha chairman Pyarimohan Mohapatra on Sunday alleged that the report of the SCW on the mysterious death of Ayush lady doctor Madhabilata Pradhan was government-sponsored. The Morcha team, which visited the spot, is convinced that the death was neither suicide nor due to any accident. It is a case of murder, he said, adding that the Morcha will be an intervenor in the writ petition filed in the High Court.
