Khandual Yatra was celebrated on Monday at Kaniguma village under tribal-dominated Thuamul Rampur block in Kalahandi.
After sacrificing animals with a traditional puja by Khandual Baba, a concert with traditional musical instruments including Ghumura, Nisan, Dalkhai and Rasarkeli echoed the entire village. The tribals also enjoyed a dance in the village covered with forests. The tribals believe that Khandual Baba’s Puja appeases the presiding deity of the village and brings peace and prosperity for them.
Among others, Divya Shankar Mishra, Fakir Majhi and Bhawanishankar Nial participated. Khandual Puja Committee president Govinda Pradhani presided while Sasmita Pradhani gave vote of thanks.
