The much-awaited Rs 20-crore bridge over the river Hati at Karmeli near Kalampur was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday.
On a whirlwind tour to the district, Naveen inaugurated the new tehsil office building at Kalampur.
Addressing a public gathering, Naveen accused the Central Government of being apathetic towards the development of Odisha. “It is due to the Centre that our State is losing on royalty from mines. The State Government, on the other hand, doesn’t just claim; it works for all-round development of Odisha,” he said. He also inaugurated the new college building of Government Engineering College at Singhjharan near Bhawanipatna and the 132/33 KV grid sub-station at Bhawanipatna, constructed at a cost of Rs 20 crore to improve power supply to Bhawanipatna and rural pockets of the district. He laid a foundation stone for improvement and widening of the 22-km existing road from Baldiamal to Dharamgarh to be constructed, estimated to cost Rs 20.29 crore.
In the noon, Naveen laid the foundation stone of Biju Setu over the river Utei near Regda and Eklavya model residential school at Biswanathpur of Lanjigarh block.
