The State Cabinet on Monday gave its nod to the Vedanta University Bill and Ravisankar Shree Shree University Bill. It has also given its nod to few amendments to the CrPC 177. With this, the video conferencing of the trial of hardcore criminals can be held in the jail.
Earlier, bills regarding to the Vedanta and Shree Shree University were introduced. It was re-introduced. The university would not be allowed to go for any off-campus. The Bills would be placed on the floor of the State Assembly to get its assent. The ICFAI’s proposed university also got the nod of the cabinet, sources said.
