A Letter to the Prime Minister by Captain R. Senapati

My Dear Mr Prime Minister,

I am an Indian from the district of Kalahandi, Orissa. I am writing this mail to you'cause, You are the first servant of India and also you are a good man.

Sir,
in Kalahandi we don't have roads, we get erratic electricity supply, we don't get regular drinking water supply, we don't have sufficient doctors, we don't have sufficient teaching staff in the educational institutions - Yet we manage to live.

Crores of Rupees come in our name - we don't know where they go (even your office wonders where they go). Projects after projects come in our way, but at the last moment are diverted to neighbouring districts. National highways, Universities are planned for our Kalahandi, but are whisked away.
Yet we live - A sub-human life.

Now the proposal for Dental and Nursing College in Kalahandi is too going to be politicised by the capable people.

Dear Sir, It's time you intervened. How long do you want us to be treated like this? Our predecessors suffered under the British and now we suffer under Indians. It sounds ominous. Please send in a trusted special envoy of yours and find out the fact. I implore upon you, Please act fast to safeguard the trust of the dignified yet simple clan of Kalahandi.

With great hope.
