Vigilance sleuths on Saturday caught red-handed the medical officer incharge of the Narla community health centre, Prafulla Sahu, while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 2,250.
According to the reports, Sahu was demanding bribe from the secretary of an NGO Prativa, Chintu Prasad Nayak, of Bhawanipatna for handing over a performance certificate towards release of Rs10,500, relating to folk media show on health awareness in the Narla block.
Following which Nayak registered a complaint with the district Vigilance cell.
In course of the investigation, a trap was laid at the official residence of Sahu, by the vigilance officers of Koraput Division. He was caught red handed by the vigilance officers after accepting bribe from the complainant.
