VAL market opened

RS Gopalan, Collector of Kalahandi inaugurated a new and modern market complex built by Vedanta Aluminium Limited (VAL) here recently.

Srimati Majhi, Chairperson of Lanjigarh Block and Mukesh Kumar, Chief Operating Officer of Vedanta Aluminium Limited (VAL), Lanjigarh were present during the occasion.

There are 16 stalls in the newly constructed building and this will help in economic self-reliance for local unemployed youths in Lanjigarh area.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Gopalan welcomed Vedanta’s initiatives for development of the locality.

Dr. Mukesh Kumar, informed that the initiative was a part of Vedanta’s constant effort for creating income generation opportunity for youths.

The market complex will provide employment opportunity for 16 youths.

The new market complex is constructed with all modern facilities, including water and electricity.

This will be handed over to Lanjigarh Gram Panchayat, which will be responsible for its management hereafter.

It will generate internal income for Lanjigarh Gram Panchayat.

The market complex will not only help in strengthening local business but also it would contribute to enhance quality of life at Lanjigarh.

Lukas Pradhan, BDO, Lanjigarh, Jagadish Benia, Vice-Chairman, Lanjigarh Block, Saraswati Munda, Sarapanch, Lanjigarh GP and Prasanta Kumar Hota, Head (CSR), Vedanta Aluminium Limited were present during the program.

After inaugurating the market complex, Mr. Gopalan also opened the new Conference Hall at Lanjigarh Block Office at Biswanathpur.
