Bhubaneswar, Oct 11 (PTI) Intensifying his tirade against the UPA government at the Centre, Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today said fight for the rights of the state and against undue "interference" would continue. Patnaik, who is also president of the ruling BJD, said this while addressing a gathering here on culmination of his party's 10-day-long padayatra. "None can prevent us from achieving development," he said. Accusing the Centre of putting hurdles before the state's development plans, he said, "There is a planned conspiracy to stop Orissa's development." Patnaik was referring to the Centre's recent action against Vedanta and Posco projects. While the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) rejected Vedanta's Rs 5,000 crore mining project at Niyamgiri hills in Kalahandi, it issued "stop work" order at Posco's proposed project site on charge of violation of the Forest Rights Act (FRA). "People opposing the state's development will be given befitting reply by the people of Orissa," Patnaik told the gathering without naming Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who had earlier termed activities at Lanjigarh (the Vedanta's refinery site) as "illegal and criminal." He said people of the state would not tolerate "outside interference" in their work and added that his party was committed to fight against "anybody" for justice.
