The Kalahandi Bar Association, at its general body meeting on Wednesday, unanimously passed a resolution against opening and functioning of the evening courts. Submitting a memorandum addressed to the High Court Chief Justice through the Kalahandi-Nuapada District and Sessions Judge, the lawyers condemned the Central Government’s decision for opening and functioning of evening courts saying as there are no infrastructures for the litigant people to stay here to face the trial and also many advocates commute from long distances to conduct the cases, it is not possible to participate in the court. They further added that, there is no huge number of cases in the Civil Judge (senior division) and JMFC courts in the district following which the lawyers unanimously resolve to boycott the evening court.
